Maureen’s art is based around the idea of creating unique pieces that can be gifted to others and tell a unique story of the relationship between the gifter and the giftee.

These commissions are are hand-made and each is completely unique to that project. These ‘pieces of me’ can take several forms - from handmade jewellery to framed artwork.

Hearts for all Occasions

Maureen’s hearts for all occasions have become a local tradition among families marking a special occasion. These special handmade heirlooms have become a go-to gift to show your love when celebrating birth, friendship, marriage or to simply say “I love you”.

“Two hearts, one within another, is what we all desire in our lives. Its such a beautiful symbol that I have always been drawn to it to say what words cannot.”

Traditionally, mothers gift their daughters a heart pendant on their wedding day. In many instances this is the same heart that the mother was gifted by relatives upon the birth of the daughter. The mother will keep the frame of the heart, symbolising how she has protected her daughter’s heart from birth, and that she will always be a part of her.

Wedding keyrings have stayed with couples for decades, as a symbol of their love and protection of each other.
