"The Waters of Life" Exhibition
Maureen's latest exhibition at the Warehouse Gallery, Derry was inspired by her fascination of water. Maureen says :
"As a child I could have played for hours just pouring water, and this I did until my skin on my fingertips rippled. Below are my inspirations, thoughts and stories connected to each piece. But of course they say 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. I hope you see the beauty too."
Moon Over Mountains
A series of four inspired by the words of John O’Donohue “The ocean is alive. Its presence spans vast distances and connects unknown lands with each other. But the ocean itself is also intimate with forces that are not on the earth at all, but lie far out in the infinite territories of space. This is the lovely connection between the ocean and the moon” John O’Donohue
A Series of Stones Falling
When we toss a stone into water, we see a “splash”, hear a “plop” and ripples travel across the water until they reach a shore or run out of energy. The stones falling each follow their own path at different speeds. But ultimately end up on the same river or sea bed. A bit like our own journeys through life.
